What Happened: On Tuesday, Retired Pope Benedict XVI asked forgiveness for his handling of sexual abuse cases involving the clergy. Benedict, now 94, was responding to a report from a German law firm that is investigating sexual abuse cases handled in the Munich archdiocese from 1945 and 2019.
