3rd Degree Murder Charge Dismissed in George Floyd Case
On Thursday, a judge dismissed the third-degree murder charge against former police officer Derek Chauvin in connection to the death of George Floyd.
Chauvin is still charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter.
The judge denied motions to dismiss charges against the other three officers present when Chauvin pressed his knee into George Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes ultimately resulting in his death.
George Floyd's death is one of the many that have led to widespread protests throughout the nation against police brutality and systemic racism.
