Strong 6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Croatia
On Tuesday, a strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit central Croatia resulting in at least 1 death and at least 20 injured.
The quake caused widespread damage in the small town of Petrinja causing several buildings to collapse.
Said Petrinja Mayor Darinko Dumbovic, "My town has been completely destroyed. We have dead children. This is like Hiroshima - half of the city no longer exists."
Added Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, "The biggest part of central Petrinja is in a red zone, which means that most of the buildings are not usable."
The army and nearby hotels are providing shelter to those who lost their homes.
