Airstrike in Ethiopia Kills Dozens
On Tuesday, an airstrike hit a market in Ethiopia's Tigray region resulting in dozens of deaths.
The airstrike comes as the fighting between Tigray's former leaders and Ethiopia has intensified. Ethiopian forces have been supported by neighboring Eritrea in the conflict as well.
The Tigray region was controlled by the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) until it was ousted by a government offensive in November. The subsequent conflict has resulted in thousands of deaths and over 2 million people being displaced from their homes. The United Nations says there have been accusations of abuse on all sides of the conflict.
Ethiopia held federal and local elections on Monday, although the Tigray region did not take part in the election process.
