Biden Administration Ready to Discuss Return to Nuclear Deal with Iran
On Thursday, the Biden administration announced that it is ready to join talks with Iran and other world powers to discuss a return to the 2015 Nuclear Deal.
Former president Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018 and reimplemented aggressive sanctions on Iran, claiming it was a "horrible" deal.
On Thursday, the Biden administration reversed some of the sanctions Trump placed on Iran.
The original 2015 agreement lifted sanctions on Iran in exchange for Iran agreeing to certain restrictions on its nuclear program. The restrictions limited uranium enrichment, making the development of a bomb, theoretically, impossible and also required rigorous inspections by the UN.
