Biden Expected to Mandate Vaccines for All Federal Employees

What's Happening:

According to sources, on Thursday, President Biden is expected to make an announcement requiring all federal employees and contractors to be vaccinated against Covid-19 or to submit to regular testing.
News of the mandate has leaked on the same day that the CDC updated their face mask guidance for fully vaccinated people. The CDC now recommends that fully vaccinated people still use masks indoors when they are in areas with high transmission of Covid-19.
Said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, "The Delta variant behaves uniquely differently from past strains of the virus that cause Covid-19...This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendations."
When the CDC last updated its guidelines, the Delta variant represented only 1% of infections, it now represents 83% of the cases.
States with lower vaccination levels are generally having the highest transmission rates. The CDC recommends that unvaccinated people get vaccinated as soon as possible and that they wear masks until they are fully vaccinated.
