Biden to Issue Executive Orders on Climate Change
On Wednesday, in an effort to cut America's oil, gas and coal emissions, President Biden plans to sign new executive orders targeting federal subsidies for those industries and restricting oil and gas leases on federal land and water.
The ambitious orders aim to conserve 30% of the country's land and oceans over the next decade and change the US to an all-electric federal vehicle fleet. The orders will also raise climate change to a national security priority. The nation will move to wind, solar and other clean energy sources instead.
Critics are concerned that the orders will result in a loss of jobs in the oil, gas and coal industries, however, Biden and his supporters say that the shift to cleaner energy will net millions of jobs, overall.
