• According to multiple sources, President Biden will pledge to cut US greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in today's virtual climate summit.

• The new target would nearly double the previous commitment the United States made and hopefully influence other countries to try and cut their emissions as well.

• 40 world leaders will be participating in the virtual climate summit. In the two-day summit, world leaders are meeting to share strategies to combat climate change.
