Biden Sets Target Of May 1st For All Adults To Be Eligible For Vaccinations
On Thursday night, President Biden held his first prime-time address since taking office. In the 24-minute speech, Biden discussed his Covid-19 Relief Bill that was signed into law just hours earlier as well as plans to combat the pandemic over the next few months.
One of the main goals he showcased was a new target of May 1st for all adults to be eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine. He clarified that this doesn't mean everyone will have received the vaccine by May 1st, but that they would be able to "get in line" by that date. Biden says he believes we will be able to gather in small groups by July 4th to "make this Independence Day truly special."
President Biden also reiterated the importance of continuing to follow safety guidelines and to not become complacent. He called for unity, saying "This is the United States of America and there's nothing we can't do when we do it together."
