Biden To Select Merrick Garland As Attorney General
Updated: Jan 7, 2021
According to government sources, President-Elect Joe Biden will select Merrick Garland as his Attorney General.
Merrick Garland, a federal appeals court judge, was famously snubbed by Republicans in 2016 when he was nominated for a position on the Supreme Court by President Obama and Senate Republicans refused to hold confirmation hearings on the nomination.
Biden is expected to make the announcement later Thursday.
Garland is a federal appeals court judge with decades of experience who has previously held senior positions in the Justice Department.
