CDC Extends Eviction Moratorium Until June 30

What Happened:
On Monday, the CDC extended the federal ban on evictions until June 30.
The extension will provide relief to millions of Americans struggling to pay their rent because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is the third time the deadline has been extended. Said CDC Director, Rochelle Walenksy, "The Covid-19 pandemic has presented a historic threat to the nation's public health. Keeping people in their homes and out of crowded or congregate settings...is a key step in helping to stop the spread of Covid-19."
According to a survey conducted in March, roughly 12 million renters are currently behind on their rent.
Landlord groups are challenging the eviction moratorium in courts saying it places an unfair burden on property owners.
