Congress - 2nd Stimulus Package Negotiations Stall

What Happened:

• Negotiations for the 2nd Coronavirus Stimulus Package have stalled as Republicans and Democrats continue to be "trillions of dollars apart"

• Both the House and the Senate are on recess until early September meaning it is very unlikely a deal will be struck before then.

• Trump issued executive orders last Saturday, including $300-$400 per week in supplemental unemployment benefits (depending on your state's budget), but, the new orders will likely take several weeks to actually go into effect.

• The eviction moratorium implemented under the CARES act is no longer in effect and 15.5 million Americans continue to be unemployed leading to widespread concern.
