Day 4 of the Democratic National Convention - Recap

What Happened:
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Michael Bloomberg, Jon Meacham, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms all spoke on the final night of the convention.
The centerpiece of the night was Joe Biden's acceptance speech of the Democratic Presidential Nomination.
Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus hosted the final night of the convention.
What was Said:
In his acceptance speech, Biden criticized President Trump's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent economic downturn which resulted in millions of job losses and even more disparate income inequality. He also criticized Trump's policies on climate change, his foreign policy efforts and racial justice.
Biden stated that he was originally motivated to run when he saw Trump's response to white supremacists during the Charlottesville protests in which Trump said there were "very fine people on both sides." Said Biden, "At that moment, I knew I'd have to run...My father taught us that silence was complicity. And I could not remain silent or complicit."
The theme of Biden's speech was largely focused on overcoming division and "healing the country" as well as stopping Trump from serving a second term and ending the "season of darkness."
Said Biden "I will draw on the best of us, not the worst. I will be an ally of the light, not of the darkness...With passion and purpose, let us begin -- you and I together, one nation, under God -- united in our love for America and united in our love for each other...This is our moment...This is our mission."
