The more "dangerous and infectious" Delta variant of Covid-19 has now spread to every state in the US and is causing health officials to consider reinstating Covid safety measures, even for people who are vaccinated.
The speed with which the Delta variant is spreading has led LA County to reinstate voluntary mask usage for indoor spaces, the first to do so.
The Delta variant was first seen in India and now accounts for about 1 out of every 5 new Covid-19 cases in the United States.
The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines appear to provide significant protection against the Delta variant.
