Eta Regains Hurricane Status as it Nears Florida for Second Time
Eta regained hurricane strength on Wednesday morning as it approaches Florida for a second time.
The storm is currently maintaining sustained winds of 75 MPH off of Florida's southwest coast.
A hurricane warning was issued for 120 miles of the coast, from Anna Maria island to St. Petersburg.
The US National Hurricane Center warned of the possibility of "life-threatening" storm surges early Thursday and Tropical storm force winds late Wednesday.
Much of South Florida experienced flooding when the storm made its first pass through a few days back.
With Theta recently named, 2020 is officially the busiest Atlantic Hurricane Season on record.
