EU Launches Legal Action Against UK Over Internal Market Bill

What Happened:
The EU announced Thursday that it will be launching legal action against the UK in response to the "Internal Market Bill", which the EU says is a breach of the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.
The "Internal Market Bill", was proposed by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and breaks international law. Specifically, the UK is seeking to undo sections of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the British plan "by its very nature is a breach of the obligation of good faith laid down in the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement."
EU leaders believe that if the bill becomes law, it could lead to the reimposition of a hard land border between Northern Ireland and Ireland and could thereby affect the stability of the region.
The UK officially left the EU on January 31st and is trying to negotiate future trade relations.
