Facebook Removes Russian Troll Network Ahead of Election

What Happened:
Facebook announced Tuesday that it had removed a small network of accounts linked to Russia's Internet Research Agency, the same company that has been using social media accounts since the 2016 election to sow political discord.
Facebook began investigating the accounts after a tip from the FBI. There were a total of 13 Facebook accounts and two pages. Facebook says the network was in the early stages of development and had "nearly no engagement" before it was removed.
The discovery sparks new concerns about ongoing Russian efforts to influence the US election.
