FDA Approves Pfizer Covid Vaccine for Emergency Use
On Friday, the US Food and Drug Administration formally approved Pfizer and BioNTech's Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use in the United States.
This will allow widespread distribution of the vaccine which will go to health care workers and residents and staff of long-term care facilities first.
The approval comes one day after the FDA advisory panel voted to allow emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine.
With the approval, officials say vaccinations can start early next week.
