Georgia Confirms Biden as Winner and No Widespread Fraud
On Thursday, Georgia's Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger (R), put out a press release confirming Joe Biden as the winner of the state for the Presidential Election.
Georgia has been going through a mandatory hand recount since last week because the margin of victory between Biden and Trump was less than half of a percent. Final results show Biden beat Trump by 12,284 votes.
During the audit, over 5,800 uncounted votes were discovered, which narrowed Biden's victory over Trump by 1,400 votes. State officials stressed that these were simply mistakes caused by human error and that there was no indication of widespread fraud in the election.
According to state law, Georgia must certify its election results by Friday.
Raffensperger has received much criticism from the GOP for not agreeing to the concept that there was widespread voter fraud in the state.
Raffensperger defended himself as a "lifelong...conservative Christian Republican" and added "I'm going to make sure we county every legal, lawful vote and we're not going to count any illegal votes...My record will stand on itself. We have done a great job."
