Georgia Will Issue a Recount Because of the Small Margin

What Happened:

• On Friday, Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensberger, announced to reporters that they will issue a recount of the votes cast in the Presidential Election due to the very small margin between Democratic Candidate Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.

• Said Raffensberger, "This process is and will remain open and transparent to monitors."

• The State's Voting System Implementation Manager, Gabriel Sterling, told reporters that there are currently 4,000+ outstanding ballots in the state.

• Sterling also emphasized that there is no proof of any ongoing fraud, saying, "We're not seeing any widespread irregularities."

• Joe Biden and Donald Trump are currently "tied" percentage-wise at 49.4% each, with Biden enjoying a slight overall lead of 1,500+ votes.
