Georgia Will Issue a Recount Because of the Small Margin
On Friday, Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensberger, announced to reporters that they will issue a recount of the votes cast in the Presidential Election due to the very small margin between Democratic Candidate Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.
Said Raffensberger, "This process is and will remain open and transparent to monitors."
The State's Voting System Implementation Manager, Gabriel Sterling, told reporters that there are currently 4,000+ outstanding ballots in the state.
Sterling also emphasized that there is no proof of any ongoing fraud, saying, "We're not seeing any widespread irregularities."
Joe Biden and Donald Trump are currently "tied" percentage-wise at 49.4% each, with Biden enjoying a slight overall lead of 1,500+ votes.
