GSA Informs Biden That Trump Administration Is Ready to Begin Transition - Updated
Updated: Nov 24, 2020
On Monday, in a letter, the General Services Administration informed President-Elect Joe Biden that the Trump Administration is ready to begin the transition process.
This is the first time that someone in the administration has acknowledged Trump's defeat in the Presidential Election. Despite the letter, the Trump Administration says they are not conceding the election and will continue to fight the election results.
The letter was sent out by the GSA Administrator, Emily Murphy and signifies that the GSA has now formally agreed to Biden's victory.
This will allow the transition process to begin including allowing coordination between agencies and the incoming Biden administration as well as providing millions in government funding to help aid the transition.
UPDATE: Via an email, White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows informed West Wing staff that the transition process was officially underway on Monday night.
