House GOP Ousts Liz Cheney From No. 3 Position

What Happened:
On Wednesday, House Republicans voted to remove Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney from her position as the House GOP’s number 3 leader. Liz Cheney is the daughter of former Vice-President Dick Cheney.
Cheney has been a vocal critic of former President Trump citing his unproven claims of election fraud and his perceived involvement in inciting the Capitol Riot on Jan. 6.
The demotion shows that challenging Trump can be a career-altering move in the current GOP.
Said Cheney in a speech before the vote, “If you want leaders who will enable and spread his [Trump’s] destructive lies, I’m not your person…You have plenty of others to choose from. That will be their legacy.”
The vote to replace Cheney will occur on Friday.
