Hurricane Sally Makes Landfall as CAT 2 in Alabama


What's Happening:

  • Hurricane Sally is back to a Category 2 with sustained winds of 105 MPH. Sally made landfall early Wednesday morning in Alabama bringing torrential rain and dangerous flooding all along the Gulf Coast from the Florida panhandle to Mississippi.

  • The hurricane continues to move at a very slow pace of 3 MPH.

  • Officials in Florida and Alabama reported flash floods of 2-3 feet in certain areas and warned residents who didn't evacuate to get to higher ground as these floods can be life-threatening.

  • Nearly half a million homes have lost electricity.
