Information of Half a Billion Facebook Users Reposted on Hacking Website
According to cyber security experts, the personal information of about half a billion Facebook users, including telephone numbers, has been reposted to a hacking website.
Other details posted may include the full name, location, birthday, known email addresses and relationship status of the users.
More than 32 million American accounts were posted on the site.
Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone told CNN that this is old data previously reported on in 2019 and that Facebook has since addressed the security issue.
Despite it being a repost of old data, cyber security firms warn that the information can still be used by hackers for social engineering attacks.
