Iran and Russia Obtained Voter Registration Data

What Happened:

• In a surprise press conference, Wednesday night, National Security officials announced that Iran and Russia had both obtained voter registration information with the supposed goal of interfering in the upcoming Presidential election.

• Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe and FBI Director Christopher Wray said that Iran had already used the registration information to try and influence voters.

• Said Ratcliffe, “These actions are desperate attempts by desperate adversaries."

• The officials also vowed to protect the integrity of the US election system.
