Israel and Two Arab States Sign Pacts to Normalize Relations

What Happened:
On Tuesday, Israel signed pacts with two Arab States during a White House ceremony with President Donald Trump. Trump is credited with helping broker the agreement.
The agreements normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
The agreement does not discuss the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. The Palestinian state considers the pacts a betrayal by their fellow Arabs.
Hundreds gathered for the ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House.
What Was Said:
“We’re here this afternoon to change the course of history. After decades of division and conflict, we mark the dawn of a new Middle East," said President Trump.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this day “is a pivot of history. It heralds a new dawn of peace.”
