Jan. 6 House Panel Votes to Hold Steve Bannon in Contempt
On Tuesday evening, a House Committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill insurrection voted unanimously to hold former White House aide Steve Bannon in contempt for defying his subpoena.
Former President Trump has directed former aides and associates to not participate in the investigation and has filed a lawsuit to try and prevent Congress from obtaining certain documents.
The panel vote will now send the resolution to the full House which is expected to vote on the measure on Thursday. If approved, the measure would be forwarded to the Justice Department who would decide whether they wish to pursue criminal charges against Bannon.
