Judge Approves $800 Million Settlement for Victims of Las Vegas Shooting
After months of negotiations, a judge approved an $800 million settlement for victims of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.
The settlement will be divided between the 4,000 claimants involved in the class action lawsuit.
The Las Vegas shooting is considered the deadliest shooting in modern US history. 58 people were killed and nearly 700 were wounded when Stephen Paddock, 64, opened fire from one of the rooms in the Mandalay Bay Hotel on a crowd attending a music festival. Paddock was later found dead in the room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The reason for Paddock opening fire on a crowd continues to be unknown.
