Judge Reinstates 3rd Degree Murder Charge Against Chauvin in George Floyd Case
On Thursday, a judge reinstated the third-degree murder charge against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in connection to the death of George Floyd.
Chauvin, who was captured on video pressing his knee into Floyd's neck for over nine minutes - ultimately resulting in Floyd's death, is also charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter.
The other three officers who were involved in the arrest are charged with aiding and abetting and will be tried in August.
George Floyd's death is one of the many that have led to widespread protests throughout the nation against police brutality and systemic racism.
