Judge Rules that Trump Must Turn Over Tax Returns to D.A.
On Thursday, Federal Judge Victor Marrero dismissed President Trump’s argument that the prosecutor’s grand jury subpoena requesting his tax returns was “wildly overbroad” and issued in bad faith.
The ruling marks another setback for the president in his legal fight to block the subpoena. This conflict has already reached the Supreme Court once and would likely end up there again as Trump is expected to appeal the ruling.
Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., has been seeking 8 years of Trump's personal and business financial records as part of an investigation into his business practices.
UPDATE: Trump's lawyers have already filed an appeal of the ruling.
