What Happened:

• On Tuesday, a Federal Jury decided that CVS, Walgreens and Walmart pharmacies were all accountable for their roles in the opioid crisis.

• The jury determined that these three pharmacies recklessly distributed massive amounts of pain pills in two Ohio counties, leading to hundreds of overdose deaths and costing the counties about $1 billion each.

• The decision could set the tone for future opioid lawsuits in other counties, a Federal Judge will determine how much the pharmacies must pay in damages next spring.
