Jury Decides Pharmacies are Responsible for Role in Opioid Crisis

What Happened:
On Tuesday, a Federal Jury decided that CVS, Walgreens and Walmart pharmacies were all accountable for their roles in the opioid crisis.
The jury determined that these three pharmacies recklessly distributed massive amounts of pain pills in two Ohio counties, leading to hundreds of overdose deaths and costing the counties about $1 billion each.
The decision could set the tone for future opioid lawsuits in other counties, a Federal Judge will determine how much the pharmacies must pay in damages next spring.
