McConnell Places Blame on Trump for Capitol Riot

What Happened:

On Tuesday, Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell explicitly called out President Trump for his role in instigating the Jan. 6th attack on the US Capitol.
Said McConnell on the Senate floor, "The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people."
The House impeached Trump for the second time last week charging him with incitement of an insurrection. McConnell has gone on record saying that he has not decided whether to convict Trump on the impeachment charges or not.
Although no exact date has been set, McConnell has said that the Senate will meet after President-Elect Biden's nomination to vote on the impeachment charges.
