McConnell Will Halt Senate Floor Activity Until October 19th

What Happened:

  • On Saturday, after three Senators recently tested positive for Covid-19, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that he will move to halt Senate floor activity until Oct. 19th.

  • Senate Committees are exempt and will continue with their work. This allows the Senate Judiciary Committee responsible for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearings to move forward, without delay.

  • Chairman Graham has scheduled to begin confirmation hearings for Amy Coney Barrett's nomination to the Supreme Court on Oct. 12th.
