More Cases of New Strain of Covid-19 Found in Europe
Updated: Dec 27, 2020

What's Happening:
Spain has confirmed an additional four cases of the new, more contagious, coronavirus variant that seems to have originated in the UK.
All of the new cases are linked to recent travel in the UK.
France, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Australia Italy and the Netherlands have all reported cases of the new variant over the last few days.
Scientists say the new strain is considerably more contagious than previous strains, but not necessarily any more dangerous.
Italy, Austria, Netherlands and Belgium have all banned flights from the UK citing concerns over the new strain of the Coronavirus.
Although the new strain is more contagious, health experts say the vaccines should still work effectively against it.
