NASA's Perseverance Rover Lands On Mars

What Happened:

• NASA's Perseverance Rover has now landed on Mars. The rover launched from Florida in July of last year and is NASA's most sophisticated rover to date.

• This will be NASA's first mission designed to search for signs of ancient life on another planet. The rover will be conducting its search in a crater that contained a lake about 3.9 billion years ago.

• NASA typically sends a rover to Mars about every 10 years. The last one was the Curiosity rover, sent in 2012.
