New England Prepares for First Hurricane in 30 Years

What's Happening:
Hurricane Henri is expected to make landfall in Long Island, NY late Sunday and to continue onwards through Southern New England.
If the hurricane maintains its current trajectory, it will be the first hurricane to hit New England in 30 years.
Residents are being warned of intense rain and winds as well as potentially dangerous tidal surges along the coast. Fire Island residents are being urged to evacuate by Saturday evening.
Henri currently has a top wind speed of 75 mph and is moving up the coast at about 17 mph. It is still roughly 400 miles south of Long Island.
Officials are recommending that residents stock up on water and batteries and utility companies are warning of potential power outages that could last up to a week.
