NRA Files for Bankruptcy

What Happened:
The National Rifle Association has filed for bankruptcy and says it plans to move its headquarters from New York to Texas.
Said NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre, "we are dumping New York, and we are pursuing plans to reincorporate the NRA in Texas."
The gun rights association has faced several legal issues in New York over the last few years. Last year, New York Attorney General Letitia James filed to dissolve the organization because of allegations of financial fraud. In the suit, James claimed that millions of dollars from the nonprofit organization were diverted for personal use and to contracts that benefited the leaders' families and associates
Said James in a statement, "The NRA's claimed financial status has finally met its moral status: bankrupt. While we review this filing, we will not allow the NRA to use this or any other tactic to evade accountability and my office's oversight."
LaPierre says the bankruptcy filing will not impact membership.
