Pfizer Says Final Analysis Shows Covid-19 Vaccine to be 95% Effective with No Safety Concerns

On Wednesday, pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and BioNTech announced in a release that the final analysis for its coronavirus vaccine showed it to be more than 95% effective with no serious safety concerns.
In a joint statement, Pfizer and BioNTech said, "Efficacy was consistent across age, race and ethnicity demographics. The observed efficacy in adults over 65 years of age was over 94%.”
According to an independent group monitoring the vaccine, the only adverse effect seen so far has been fatigue.
Pfizer says it will seek emergency use authorization from the FDA “within days.” The company says it is capable of producing 50 million vaccine doses in 2020 and expects to produce 1.3 billion in 2021.
