Powerful Derecho with over 90 mph winds moving through midwest

What Happened:
According to the National Weather Service, an "intense derecho" has traveled from southeast South Dakota all the way to Ohio, a path of 770 miles in only 14 hours.
The inland storm has generated numerous gusts over 74 mph -- hurricane force -- and several over 90 mph in central Iowa. Some of the peak gusts have reached over 110 mph.
There is widespread damage in Iowa and Illinois.
The storm has left nearly 1 million people without power.
The storm is classified as a derecho because it has exceeded the criteria of winds in excess of 58 mph and damage spanning at least 250 miles.
