President Trump and First Lady Test Positive for COVID-19


What Happened:

  • President Trump announced very early Friday morning via Twitter that both he and the First Lady have tested positive for COVID-19.

  • Tweeted President Trump around 1 am, “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"

  • This is the most serious health threat faced by a sitting US President in several decades. President Trump‘s age and weight place him into the “high risk“ category.

  • The financial markets have already reacted quickly with Futures tumbling more than 400 points.

  • The news comes only a few hours after one of Trump’s closest aides, Hope Hicks, also tested positive for Covid-19.
