President Trump Issues 26 More Pardons

What Happened:
On Wednesday, President Trump announced 26 more pardons including high-profile one for former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and Charles Kushner (father of Jared Kushner).
The pardons of Manafort and Stone are particularly striking as they were both indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller and were convicted by juries of multiple crimes.
Manafort spent nearly two years in prison for bank and tax fraud, illegal foreign lobbying and witness tampering. He was released this year because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Stone was convicted of threatening a witness and obstruction of Congress but his sentence was commuted by Trump earlier this year, just days before he was to turn himself in.
Charles Kushner pleaded guilty to 16 counts of tax evasion, witness tampering and illegal campaign contributions.
Many expect several more pardons from Trump over the next few weeks as he prepares to leave office.
