Protests in Belarus in response to Presidential Election Results

What Happened:
Protests broke out in Belarus Sunday in response to the preliminary Presidential election results which revealed longtime President Alexander Lukashenko as the overwhelming winner. This would be his 6th consecutive term.
Opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya says she does not agree with the results. Tikhanovskaya went into hiding Saturday night after police detained several of her senior campaign members.
Web monitoring organization NetBlocks says Belarus was hit with widespread disruption in internet activity during Sunday's election. Belarus's National cyber-security response center CERT responded saying the internet restrictions are a measure to block incoming cyber-attacks.
