Sudan's Military Seizes Power in Coup
On Monday, Sudan's military seized power in a coup, arrested the Prime Minister and dissolved the transitional government.
Thousands took to the streets to protest the power grab. Several protesters have been wounded during the demonstrations.
The head of the military, Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan, announced on TV that he was dissolving the government. He also declared a state of emergency and announced that the military would continue pursuing the country's democratic transition and that leadership would be handed over to the elected government upon completion of the election.
