Supreme Court Hearing on Axing Obamacare Starts Today
What's Happening:
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear GOP arguments to eliminate the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). This is the third time the court has heard arguments over Obamacare.
The Republican Party has repeatedly tried to eliminate the act, but, has thus far failed to do so in Congress and in courts.
If the act is overturned, it would eliminate protections for people with preexisting medical conditions and threaten coverage for over 23 million people who are currently enrolled in the program.
With the newly established conservative super-majority on the Supreme Court (6-3), many are concerned that the act may be overturned this time.
