Trial Begins for 20 Men Accused of Involvement in 2015 Paris Attacks
On Wednesday in France, the trial commenced for 20 men accused of involvement in the Islamic State group's 2015 attacks in Paris that resulted in 130 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
In the Nov. 13, 2015 attacks, 9 gunmen and suicide bombers attacked a soccer stadium, a concert hall and several restaurants and cafes in Paris.
Salah Abdeslam is the key defendant in the case as he is the sole survivor of the extremist cell from that evening.
A total of 20 men are charged with involvement in the terrorist attack, however, 6 will be tried in absentia.
The trial is scheduled to last for 9 months, none of the proceedings will be broadcast to the public.
