Trump Ally Tom Barrack Accused of Being UAE Agent
On Tuesday, the chair of former President Donald Trump's inaugural committee, Thomas Barrack, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to influence Trump's foreign policy positions to benefit the United Arab Emirates.
Barrack, along with two others, was charged in New York Federal Court with conspiracy, obstruction of justice and making multiple false statements during an interview with federal agents. The other two charged in the suit are Matthew Grimes and Rashid Sultan Rashid Al Malik Alshahhi.
Assistant Attorney General Mark Lesko said, the alleged conduct is "nothing short of a betrayal of those officials in the United States, including the former President."
