Trump Files a Lawsuit to Block the Release of Documents from Jan. 6

What Happened:

On Monday, former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit to block the release of documents relating to the January 6th Capitol Hill insurrection. The documents were to be turned over to the Congressional committee investigating the riot.
In the lawsuit, Trump claims the the investigation is "almost limitless in scope" and that they are seeking records that have no connection to the Jan. 6th events.
The former President also claims that some of the documents that the committee has requested are covered by "executive privilege" and others include conversations between lawyers and their client.
President Biden has said he would not block the release of the documents to the committee considering the unprecedented events of Jan. 6th.
