Trump issues order banning TikTok in 45 days if not sold by parent companies

What Happened:
President Trump issued executive orders on Thursday that would ban social media app TikTok and WeChat from operating in the US in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese parent companies.
Microsoft is in talks to acquire the app and is pushing forward with negotiations.
Instagram (owned by Facebook) has released its "TikTok competitor" named Reels to the public this week.
