Trump Organization and CFO are Indicted for Tax Fraud

What Happened:

On Thursday, the Trump Organization and its Chief Financial Officer, Allen Weisselberg, were charged with tax fraud. The former president himself was not charged in the case.
After a two-year investigation, this is the first criminal case filed by New York prosecutors.
According to the indictment, prosecutors allege that the Trump Organization and the CFO fraudulently avoided paying state and city taxes by paying senior executives off the books and with other benefits. Weisselberg is also charged with grand larceny, a charge that could carry up to 15 years in prison.
Both Weisselberg and the Trump Organization have pleaded not guilty.
