Trump to issue ban of TikTok and WeChat from US App Stores

What Happened:
On Friday, the Trump administration said it would ban TikTok and WeChat from US App stores citing National Security concerns. The Chinese owned apps are used by over 100 million people in the United States.
The ban would go into effect on Sunday for WeChat and on Nov. 12 for TikTok.
The ban follows an executive order issued on Aug. 6th in which the President gave the apps 45 days to sell their US holdings or be banned.
The government has long cited privacy concerns with the Chinese owned apps saying they collect data from American users that can be accessed by the Chinese government.
Just 4 days ago, TikTok announced that Oracle had won the bid to acquire ownership of TikTok in the US. They are currently in talks and could announce a deal very shortly which should help meet the terms of the executive order issued last month.
